The hand of God was surely in AJAMM's favor this past weekend! From Friday night to Sunday afternoon, AJAMM was invested in presenting a powerful regional conference at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA. There are so many highlights until it's hard to know where to start. So here goes!

AJAMM Friday Night Worship started with full praise in the church: the women ministers of St. Matthew carried out the service; St. Matthew's sanctuary choir provided music and Rev. Sherri Jackson, Director of their Women's Ministry preached a powerful sermon, entitled, "Until Then" from Jeremiah 29:11. Awesome use of a can of bug spray! Dr. Mary Moss was in the house and blessed two baby boys through a riveting prayer. Pastor Joe S. Green embraced AJAMM and pronounced his blessing on AJAMM's presence at his church.

Saturday, after a continental breakfast, AJAMM presented three workshops. The facilitators and topics were: Saundra Reed - The Power of Worship; Glenda Spears - Finding Balance and Maxine Waddell - Seminary: To Go or Not to Go?. Attendance in each session ranged between 10-20! St. Matthew served a delicious lunch menu topped by homemade peach cobbler. The atmosphere was charged with openness, friendliness and full acceptance of AJAMM's mission to empower women!

The weekend for AJAMM ended on a high note on Sunday. Dr. Maxine Waddell, Chair of AJAMM's Board, served as guest preacher for the 11 a.m. worship hour. Her sermon was entitled, "When All Hell Breaks Loose," taken from 1 Samuel 30:1-6. She reminded everyone to 'fasten upon' the Lord when life becomes overwhelming.
